Paid Directory Links – Will They Hurt a Website’s Rankings?

There has been a lot of hype going around lately about directory links being worthless or detrimental to your site in the eyes of search engines (especially Google) and I thought I would provide my thoughts about all this talk

First off, directory submissions will never hurt your rankings in search engines. If they did people would be submitting their competitor’s links and the whole infrastructure behind Google would fall apart at the seams. Google could start lowering the value from directories if they could tell what a directory is (because of the vast number of directories, Google would need some sort of advanced testing algorithm). I see this happening more in the future about for now it seems Google is giving some good juice to quality directories that aren’t just cleanly designed link farms.

From my experience, links from QUALITY directories are still very beneficial when trying to get a website to rank. They are a quick, cheap, and easy way for websites to get a good foundation of back links without complex link baiting or triangular link campaigns.

Bonus:

We are now offering 15 FREE link directory submissions. These directory links are 100% free and do not require you to ever by anything from us.

These links too expensive for you? If you would have gotten in on them when they first started you could have gotten a link in many of them for free. The trick is to sign up with these directories when they first go up and secure your free link before they become a paid directory. My team is constantly finding new directories that will eventually become high PR paid directories and we can submit your site to them for a nominal fee – this is a great way to get listed in high PR directories without breaking the bank.
